Bagalāmukhī Stambhana Mūla Mantra

ॐ ह्लीं बगलामुखि
सर्वदुष्टानां वाचं मुखं पादं स्तम्भय
जिह्वां कीलय बुद्धिं विनाशय
ह्लीं ॐ स्वाहा॥

oṁ hlīṁ Bagalāmukhi
sarva-duṣṭānāṁ vācaṁ mukhaṁ pādaṁ stambhaya
jihvāṁ kīlaya buddhiṁ vināśaya
hlīṁ oṁ svāhā

O Bagalāmukhī, paralyze the speech, face, and movement of all evildoers.
Nail (paralyze) the tongue, destroy the intellect of those with malicious intent.

• Om Hlīṁ – The bīja (seed) mantra of Bagalāmukhī; “Hlīṁ” represents her piercing and stunning energy. It’s a mantra of immobilization and control.
• Bagalāmukhī – The goddess invoked here, known for stopping enemies, silencing slander, and protecting the devotee from deception and harm.
• Sarva duṣṭānāṁ – “Of all evil-doers” or negative forces (external and internal).
• Vācaṁ, mukhaṁ, pādaṁ stambhaya – “Paralyze the speech, face, and movements (legs)”
• The mantra requests the immobilization of malicious people’s words, expressions, and actions.
• Jihvāṁ kilaya – “Nail/stun their tongues”
• Symbolizes silencing lies, gossip, or hostile words.
• Buddhiṁ vinaśaya – “Destroy their intellect/discernment”
• It implies neutralizing cunning or harmful intentions, not general intelligence.
• Hlīṁ Om Svāhā – A concluding bīja and offering phrase to seal the invocation with potency and devotion.

Goddess Bagalāmukhī

• She is the eighth Mahāvidyā in the ten great wisdom goddesses (Daśa Mahāvidyāḥ).
• Her name means “the one whose face has the power to capture or control.”
• Often depicted pulling the tongue of a demon, she is the goddess of speech control, psychic dominance, and silence of enemies.
• She is invoked for victory in debates, court cases, gossip battles, or mental torment from hostile forces.
• The mantra does not destroy people, but neutralizes their hostile influence, especially at the level of thought, word, and deed.

Bagalāmukhī Dhyāna Śloka

श्वेताम्बरधरा देवी हेममाल्याभिभूषिता।
चम्पकाशोकपुष्पाढ्या चन्द्रार्कनिबलोचना॥

śvetāmbaradharā devī hemamālyābhibhūṣitā |
campakāśokapuṣpāḍhyā candrārkanibalocanā ||

The Goddess wears white garments,
She is adorned with golden garlands,
She is rich with campaka and aśoka flowers,
And her eyes shine with the brilliance of the moon and the sun.

This verse paints a serene and radiant image of Devī Bagalāmukhī in her benevolent form, emphasizing:

• Śveta-ambara: Her white attire reflects purity, mental clarity, and her sattvic (divine) nature.
• Hema-mālya: Golden garlands symbolize auspicious power and spiritual wealth.
• Flower imagery: Campaka and Aśoka flowers are associated with beauty, love, and victory.
• Candrārka-nibha-locanā: Her eyes hold the dual force of calmness (moon) and illumination (sun) — the power to both pacify and reveal.

This dhyāna verse is traditionally recited before her main mantra, to attune the mind and heart to her divine form.

Bagalāmukhī Mūla Mantra

ॐ ह्लीं बगलामुखि सर्वशत्रुं वाचं मुखं पदं स्तम्भय जिव्हां कीलय बुद्धिं विनाशय ह्लीं ॐ स्वाहा।

oṁ hlīṁ bagalāmukhi sarvaśatruṁ vācaṁ mukhaṁ padaṁ stambhaya jihvāṁ kīlaya buddhiṁ vināśaya hlīṁ oṁ svāhā

I invoke the fierce and protective Goddess Bagalāmukhī, whose power stuns and silences all hostile forces. May she paralyze the speech, face, and actions of every enemy; may she pin down their tongues and destroy their harmful intentions and deceptive intellect. With the force of her seed syllable Hlīṁ, I offer this mantra for divine protection and the complete neutralization of negativity.

Bagalāmukhī doesn’t merely silence enemies—she teaches the practitioner to cut through illusion, doubt, and agitation, both externally and internally. Through her mantra, the devotee gains the power to pause, center, and act with wisdom.

Bagalāmukhī Gāyatrī Mantra

ॐ वदवामुख्यै च विद्महे
स्तम्भिनी धीमहि
तन्नो बगला प्रचोदयात्॥

oṁ vadavāmukhyai ca vidmahe
stambhinī dhīmahi
tanno bagalā pracodayāt

We meditate upon the one-faced form of the Goddess, who is known as Stambhinī, the power that immobilizes and silences. May Bagalā, the fierce and divine one, inspire and direct our intellect and inner strength.

This mantra honors Bagalāmukhī as the force of stillness and control, especially over speech, ego, and deception, making it both a protective and meditative invocation for inner clarity.

Bagalāmukhī Kavacha Mantra

ॐ ह्लीं बगलामुखि मम रक्षणं कुरु कुरु स्वाहा।

oṁ hlīṁ bagalāmukhi mama rakṣaṇaṁ kuru kuru svāhā

O Bagalāmukhī, protect me now and always — let your stunning force shield me.

This mantra is recited during moments of fear, psychic attack, danger, or emotional unrest.
