A double classification in Rūpa Gosvāmī’s Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi combining relative standing (adhikā, superior to some while junior to others) with manner of behaviour (mṛdvī, gentle). Citrā and Madhurikā are named as adhika-mṛdvīs at 8.21. It does not mean simply “very gentle”, and Rūpa warns that such dispositions can reverse according to place, time and circumstance.
