Dhṛṣṭadyumna, son of Drupada and brother of Draupadī, born from the sacrificial fire for the destruction of Droṇa. He was commander-in-chief of the entire Pāṇḍava army for the whole eighteen days — unlike the Kaurava side, which replaced its commander four times — and killed Droṇa on the fifteenth day. He survived the battlefield only to be killed by Aśvatthāmā in the night raid.
