In Gaura-līlā, Dhyānacandra Gosvāmī identifies Citrā-devī with Govindānanda. He should not be confused with Govindānanda Ghoṣa, whom the same author associates with Raṅgadevī, nor with Govinda Datta. The Caitanya-caritāmṛta remembers Govindānanda as dear to the Lord and a great devotee.
