Guruvāyūr in Kerala, where Kṛṣṇa is worshipped in a four-armed form as Guruvāyūrappan — the Lord served by Guru Bṛhaspati and Vāyu. The Deity is said to have been worshipped by Sutapā and Pṛśni, carried through three of the Lord’s appearances, and rescued from the waves that covered Dvārakā. The temple keeps a herd of some fifty elephants for the Lord’s processions.
