Orpiment, the brilliant yellow mineral pigment of South Asia, and the standard Sanskrit measure of a saturated golden-yellow complexion. Rūpa Gosvāmī describes Indulekhā as haritāla-ujjvala-dyutiḥ — her radiance luminous like haritāla — which is a good deal more than the “tan” of some modern summaries.
