A sign, gesture, indication or outward movement that reveals an inner intention — a glance, a hesitation, a change of expression. Iṅgita-vijñāna, knowledge of such signs, is among the abilities the sources attribute to Citrā-devī, and it is the skill of reading what has not been said aloud.
