The devotee who approaches Kṛṣṇa already possessing knowledge of what He is. Bhagavad-gītā 7.16 lists the jñānī last of the four kinds who turn to Him, and 7.17 calls him especially dear — not because philosophy outranks devotion, but because in him knowledge has already ripened into exclusive devotion.
