Literally one who has “nothing.” Gauḍīya teachers give it a deeper devotional sense: nothing held separately from Bhagavān. Kuntī calls the Lord akiñcana-gocara, accessible to such a person. A person may possess almost nothing and still be consumed by acquisition, while another may administer great resources yet see them as Kṛṣṇa’s property — so the measure is not the bank balance but “what do I still insist belongs independently to me?”
