One of the seven forests west of the Yamunā, named for the sacred cow Bahulā and later linked with the Rādhā-kuṇḍa region. The Sanskrit recension of the Padma Purāṇa reads bakula rather than bahulā, and does so consistently — a genuine textual variation rather than a spelling error, with both readings worth preserving.
