An obscure Sanskrit weapon. Later lexicography sometimes identifies it with a firearm, but the Bhāgavatam lists it beside clubs, swords and arrows, and the Nītiprakāśikā describes a long broad handled object that is whirled. The identification with a gun is not secure.
