Devatā — a god within the created order: Brahmā, Śiva, Indra, Sūrya and the rest, genuine authorities holding delegated power rather than independent supremacy. Gauḍīya siddhānta distinguishes them from Viṣṇu-tattva, and Purāṇic statements praising one or another have to be read with that distinction in view. Pages here treat them.
