Draupadī, daughter of Drupada and wife of the five Pāṇḍavas, born from the sacrificial fire. Her humiliation in the Kaurava assembly is the injury that sends the Pāṇḍavas into exile, and the Purāṇas trace it back to an offense committed in an earlier birth.
