Saṅketa, the appointed rendezvous in Vraja, traditionally situated in the corridor between Barsānā and Nandagrāma. The Sanskrit word means a sign, signal, secret agreement or prearranged meeting, and the place carries that sense exactly: it is where the sakhīs arrange the encounter, and where Kṛṣṇa’s flute can itself serve as the signal — saṅketa-veṇu-nāda. It functions almost as a threshold between Rādhā’s familial world and Kṛṣṇa’s.
