Jayadeva Gosvāmī, the twelfth-century Sanskrit poet of the Gīta-govinda, whose songs of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in union and separation shaped the devotional imagination of Bengal long before the Gauḍīya ācāryas, and which Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu had sung to Him constantly in His later years.
