Māna, the subtle loving indignation or offended pride of a heroine toward her lover — not ordinary anger but a recognised stage of prema that deepens union by delaying it. It is central to the Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa līlā, and in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta praṇaya and māna together become the bodice covering Rādhā’s breast.
