The appearance day of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī: the eighth day of the bright fortnight of Bhādra, Bhādra śukla aṣṭamī. The Garga-saṁhitā places her descent at midday under a clouded sky, on a Monday. It is not to be confused with Kṛṣṇa’s Janmāṣṭamī, which falls in the dark fortnight of the same month.
