The king whose fear shapes the danger surrounding the appearance of Kṛṣṇa and Rādhā. Warned by the divine daughter of Devakī that his destroyer had already appeared, and told of the coming manifestation of extraordinary divine śaktis, he ordered Pūtanā to destroy exceptional male infants and to abduct exceptional female ones.
